There are TWENTY FOUR CATS on NEW YORK CITY’S KILL POUND NYC ACC’S LIST FOR DEATH AT NOON TUESDAY. 24 darlings who need not die ranging in age from one day old kittens & their worried mama to a sweet & worried 16 year old named REDMONT who mourns his dead owner, which apparently NYC ACC could not understand & so they rushed him to death. And, yes, this has been mentioned to the mayor so think about that next time you vote, NYC voters.
Click on the cat you want to read more about and at the bottom you can comment using Facebook, Twitter, Disqus & pledge.
Hope your Monday has been (and is) a pleasant one & hope you can help some fabulous cats be saved from New York City’s kill pound. And do, whenever you can, call their mayor (and he says he prefers letters so write him too) & tell him what you think about promising no kill as a candidate and then killing some of the most perfect cats to grace this planet.
“Dear Lucky: Letters to our Cat” has 54 color photographs — I took 52 of them — and tells the story of a darling feral kitten we rescued who became one of the most perfect housecats you could have. You’ll see why he HAD to be named LUCKY when you read his book. So don’t ever let them say, “just a stray,” or “he’s feral….” (And the last story is lagniappe about a cat in New Orleans named Cookie. I’ve always loved hearing my husband tell Cookie’s story & now you can read about her too.)
And when you look at Lucky’s photo on the front cover note that he thought he had moved to where I could not photograph him when he “hid” that way…..
